I just realised that my face was almost on my computer screen – I have nori , I can smell your special dish, so fragrant, – even Saint Peter wants to join in! Wonderful man – (terrible man!) to make such a perfect and artistic meal. My son, also Peter, is a trained chef; bur best meals are not as pretty as yours, but thank you, and Happy New Year!

Hii, its late but in Indonesia we usualy gather with the neighbor and we grilled corn and chicken together with charcoal, then we eat together while the children play with firecrackers!!

My family likes to have a dinner at midnight for New Years, it’s something we’ve always done. We make a good stew and some bread and eat together.

Thanks Shibasaki sensei for this delicious recipe! I also like Taro root roasted – parboil unpeeled…cool… peel and flatten (don’t chop, different shapes makes it interesting)… drizzle your favourite dry seasoning and some oil/melted butter… place in single layer on baking tray… 180 C for 20min approx or till is golden brown on both sides… serve as is or garnish with finely chopped coriander/parsley/crushed nori … ooh! It’s the crispiest, crunchiest snack ever!
I had ozouni with my partner's family last new years, the same time you did! It was delicious, but at the time I was so nervous because he was going to school 100 miles away and I knew we'd miss each other terribly. But we made it through it! I think about that when I eat it now – it's a bittersweet memory, but it reminds me to stay hopeful.

My family in the USA usually eats "black eyed peas", a type of bean that we stew with peppers and ham. We eat it with corn bread and it is supposed to bring good luck.
My favourite dish is Russian salad, you should try this, teacher!
